This was in response to a Fiction Challenge at The Prose

The basis of the challenge: In exactly 50 words, vividly describe your unique fantasy world and role.

I rest atop my throne of skulls, cables.
I rule this world in entirety, virtual.
The population lives to serve me, but yet they don’t realize I exist.

Billions of entities worshiping my idols, [gather-locations] in C++.
If they denounce me, they won’t remain.

I’ll wipe it and start over.
